We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to be part of a creative, forward-thinking team. Our success at deploying skilled, highly knowledgeable experts has landed us on the Inc. 5000 list of Americaastest-growing companies four times d wejust getting started.
As the Principal Software Engineer, you will architect and build web front-ends using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 using the latest frameworks. You will fluidly move between advanced front-end coding to implementing a scalable back-end using Java and Oracle. You will also work with a cross-functional agile development team. Additionally, you will experiment with new technologies and bring fresh ideas that can benefit and evolve our tech stack.
What YouNeed to be Successful:
- At least 8 years of front-end development using JavaScript
- At least 10 years of full stack Java-based web application development
- B.S. degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
- Proven experience leading component designs and implementation
- Demonstrated experience leading the technical implementation of application components for small teams of engineers
- Strong ability to dive into existing code, understand what itoing, and determine what can be done to make it better
- Experience designing and building highly scalable applications with a deep understanding of what it takes to ensure a component is manageable when it is in production
- Excellent communication skills, and attention to detail
- Expertise with a major JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Ember, Backbone, ExtJS)
- Experience with HTML5 and CSS3 including CSS preprocessors like SASS
- Experience with single page JavaScript applications
- Experience with cross browser support for the latest browsers
- Expertise with Java including Hibernate/JPA
- Proficient with Oracle databases and SQL
- Experience building and consuming internal/external APIs (including, but not limited to REST)
- Experience with Spring
Great Additional Skills:
- Masteregree
- Hands-on experience with test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD
- Experience working with highly scalable, distributed, micro-service based applications
- Experience with AMQP Messaging (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc)
- Strong experience with profiling and performance optimization
- Experience with NodeJS and Yarn
- Experience with Webpack
- Knowledgeable about current best practices with JavaScript/CSS including ES6
