The Redmond, Washington office is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to work as part of a team on civil, geotechnical and geological engineering projects. Currently, the Redmond team is engaged with design and construction phases of several light rail projects, pursuing design-bild transportation opportunities, and growing the loc land development and site redevelopment practices among many others. In this role, your duties may include:
- Conducting field investigations including logging of geotechnical boreholes;
- Providing field monitoring and testing for construction projects;
- Performing engineering calculations for the design of foundations and earthen structures, and preparing reports;
- Assignments may include travel to remote locations worldwide and outside work in various climates; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements - Candidates should have a at least a BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and a MS in Geotechnical Engineering. The preferred candidate will have graduate level coursework in foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, numerical modeling, and earthquake engineering or seismic design. A sstrong academic record is highly desirable.
- This is an entry level position. Minimal work experience is required with appropriate education. Upcoming graduates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Work experience/internship strongly preferred.
- The candidate shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and in groups.
- Candidates must be willing to travel to projects within the US.
- FE/EIT registration.
Additional desirable skills, experience and interests:
- Candidates with experience in numerical modeling programs such as FLAC or Plaxis desired. Knowledge of PYTHON or other programming language a plus.
- Field logging and sampling, laboratory testing, or experience with slope stability, settlement, general civil design experience, construction experience, rock engineering, and other geotechnical analyses
- Candidates with the flexibilty to quickly and effeciently swich focus between multiple tasks desired.
