Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or High School/GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of two yearsperience with: * Knowledge of 4 handed dental procedures and chair side dental assisting skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, infection control protocols, equipment, materials and methods.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and/or oral/ written communication skills
- Detail and team oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Graduation from a Certified Dental Assisting program, CPR certified and has a Intraoral Radiographic certification and two yearsperience in dental assisting in a general dentistry practice, to include previous experience mixing dental materials, taking x-rays, chair side dental assisting skills/ knowledge in multiple dental disciplines such as operative, crown and bridge, removable prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, surgery and pediatric dentistry. * CPR certified
- Training with radiology safety
- A minimum of two yearsevious experience as a dental assistant to include previous experience mixing dental materials, taking x-rays, chair side assisting skills/knowledge in multiple dental disciplines (Prosthodontic, Esthetic, Endodontic, Pediatric, Orthodontic or Periodontics assisting).
- Proficient in understanding and speaking Spanish in a clinical setting.
- Must be a certified dental surgical anesthesia assistant or obtain certification as a dental surgical anesthesia assistant within the first year of employment.
Responsibilities The duties include but are not limited to: assisting during procedures requiring IV sedation in the operating room and clinical setting, chair side assisting in emergency dentistry, prosthodontic, esthetic, endodontic, pediatric, orthodontic and /or periodontics assisting. Cleaning, packing and maintaining dental instruments/equipment and providing support to dental students, residents and faculty, as well as ordering supplies, stocking operatories and general supply inventory. Serve as liaison for patients, staff, students, residents and faculty within the dental college. Also required to work ADEX (CRDTS) exams and mock boards, as well as other special board certification exercises throughout the year as needed requiring weekend work up to approximately 4-6 times per year.

Pay Grade: 9
Salary: $12.13/hr - $13.84/hr
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
