Job Description Numerical Control Programmer
Raytheon Precision Manufacturing (RPM) is a leader in high precision mechanical product manufacturing. RPM is experiencing growth with primary focus in the defense and commercial aerospace markets.
Job Description: Reporting to a Raytheon Precision Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the Lemmon Avenue site in Dallas, Texas, the Numerical Control (NC) Programmer will be responsible for writing NC programs to machine complex high precision metal parts. This position will include:
- Working safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free work place
- Defining and establishing metal part manufacturing processes that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements
- Close interaction with personnel responsible for fixture design, inspection equipment programming, machinists and methods
- Day to day interaction with Raytheon employees including all levels of Precision Manufacturing management
- Changing and improving processes to increase productivity and competitiveness
- Meeting cost & schedule commitments while maintaining the utmost standards for quality
- Promoting a spirit of cooperation and following company policies
Required skills:
- 4 years experience demonstrating strong ability in creating and optimizing 5-axis numerical control programs in Siemens NX or NX5
- Must be proficient at reading and understanding written shop processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions, procedures and routers and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds, solid model generation, necessary to produce cost effective complex tight toleranced 5-axis machined parts
- Demonstrated ability programming multi-function machining centers (Mori Seiki NT's, Mazak Integrex and Deckel Maho DMC's)
- Methodization of product including: cutting tool requirements, fixture design, process flow analysis, operation methods analysis and compilation of labor estimates
- Strong knowledge and experience with on machine probing, FANUC and Siemens controls
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with machinists, support groups, customers, and management
- Demonstrated problem solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements
- Highly competent and trustworthy. Sincere relationship management skills are a must
Desired skills:
- A minimum of 10 years experience is preferred.
- Experience with/knowledge of the following support functions: Methods, Tooling and Quality Assurance
- Experience with any of the following software systems/tools: SAP/PRISM, Pro-Engineer, GibbsCam, Esprit, Vericut
- Post processor development and customization
- NC Machine operation experience a plus
Education: Bachelor's Degree. An additional 8 years of experience in programming may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
