With the amount of data being created growing exponentially and "Big Data" becoming mainstream in the computing industry, traditional data analysis tools are no longer sufficient to draw insights from Terabytes and Petabytes of data. We are the Algorithms and Data Science Engineering team - a fast paced team with a startup mindset within the Azure Machine Learning org. We leverage the Azure Machine Learning platform and the Azure technology stack to create customer focused solutions for Microsoft customers. We create innovative tools and processes to make Azure accessible to data scientists and Advanced Analytics professionals so that they can create end to end operationalized machine learning solutions.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about designing and building predictive cloud- based solutions that deliver measurable business impact. You will have the ability to employ advanced machine learning techniques and leverage the power of the Azure technology stack to meet this objective.

Basic Qualifications:

• A BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent industry experience.

• 3+ years of experience with C#, C/C++, and/or Java.

• 3+ years of experience as a software developer working on industrial strength software and a proven track record of having shipped successful software products.

Highly Desirable:

• Passion and empathy for customers. You should LOVE building solutions and experiences that make their lives easier and deliver measurable business value.

• Passion and excitement for software engineering. You should LOVE creating performant software and working with bleeding edge technology.

• A strong background in Data Structures, Algorithms, Analysis of algorithm complexity and efficient implementation of complex algorithms. Good understanding of analytical & statistical concepts.

• An understanding of software service development principles and patterns such as loose coupling and clean separation of services.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Engineering Management, Data Scientists, UX designers and Program Managers.

• 3+ years of experience with SQL and/or NoSQL.

• 3+ years of experience with Restful web services.

• 3+ years of experience with cloud services: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud.

• Experience with software development tools such as source control systems, automated build systems, compilers, software validation systems, test harnesses, continuous integration & deployment. Must have strong debugging skills

• Experience with DevOps supporting production systems.

• Interest in or exposure to machine learning concepts as well as data analysis skills.
