We are seeking a sterilization assistant to assist in the management of the Arrow Dental, located in Milwaukie, Oregon, dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC and standards. Handles instrument cleaning, sterilization/disinfection and re-circulation. Performs dental treatment room disinfection.
As in our Salem and Eugene clinics, Arrow Dental will primarily serve Medicaid patients. This is to help the community with the large population of Medicaid members that either became Medicaid eligible due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or the expansion population that was previously enrolled on the Standard plan and rolled into the Plus plan effective January 1, 2014.
Primary Functions:
1. Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
2. Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment areas; positions instruments for dentistccess; suctions; passes instruments
3. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
4. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
5. Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols
6. Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturernstructions; calls for repairs when necessary
7. Maintains dental supplies inventory; places orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies
8. Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
10. Contributes to team effort
11. Other duties as assigned

Required Skills 1. High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 1- 2 years dental office experience preferred.
3. Typing ability of 40 wpm net. Strong 10-key skills.
4. Must be able to multitask in a face paced dental practice.
5. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
6. Ability to work well under pressure work with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
