Job Summary Supervises daily operations of the Central Pharmacy, Compounding Room and Carousel Areas. Reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and assesses the technical operations of these areas to ensure safe and efficient workflow. Coordinates all activities with management team and acts as a liaison between the managers and technical staff.
Job Details Responsibilities: - Directly supervises the activities of the main pharmacy repackaging area, pharmacy carousels and delivery technicians.
- Ensures adequate staffing of these areas.
- Reviews daily, monthly and other periodic management reports to monitor service levels.
- Plans, develops, and manages all policies and processes related to medication compounding, pharmacy carousels and medication delivery system.
- Determines short- and long-term needs and goals, assists in the development of budgets for both operating and capital needs and projects manpower and equipment needs.
- Serves as a resource for storeroom personnel regarding the pharmacy carousel dispensing system.
- Conducts performance appraisals, initiates promotions, counsels employees and processes corrective action.
- Provides Inpatient Operations Manager with timely feedback regarding operational issues to ensure efficient workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science or related field.
- Knowledge of personnel management, principles and techniques.

- Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Work Experience: - A minimum of three (3) years of previous supervisory/management experience required.
- A Master's degree may offset the experience requirement.
- Hospital pharmacy experience with emphasis on medical distribution functions preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Normal physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
- Normal or corrected vision.
- Extensive sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone and in person.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
