About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Hospitality professional to join the Pre-opening team in the Sales Department at Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa. The main purpose of the role is to secure and develop accounts for the property and increase the client database, through consistent solicitations and establishing trust and rapport with clients, in order to drive forward the SBU’s sales targets.
Your key responsibilities will include: - Implement the Sales strategy as directed by the Director of Sales and Marketing in order to promote sales, identify business opportunities in the marketplace, and achieve the annual sales objectives.

- Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all SBU offerings, including offers, promotions, corporate market and competitor trends, account share and customer needs in order to continuously deliver high quality service and ensure that the SBU meets its targeted sales objectives.
- Remain abreast with the SBU’s actual and forecasted volumes and occupancies of space and rooms inventory in order to sell them at all times and meet the established sales targets.
- Maximize room occupancy and achieve target room night sales for the SBU by identifying new business opportunities, converting inquiries and optimizing existing accounts.
- Manage the research of attractive new business opportunities and leads, and attend and represent the SBU at industry events, trade shows, etc. in order to keep a high profile in the marketplace and increase the SBU’s growth targets.
- Establish, build and manage strong relationships with existing and new accounts in order to enable future bookings and work to meet sales targets as assigned.
- Provide feedback and explain variances to the Director of Sales and Marketing on all sales-related activities, including competitors, and recommend corrective action to remedy significant variances.
- Communicate effectively to the Global Sales Offices (GSOs) on all issues relevant to own managed accounts in order to maximize market penetration and exposure.
- Manage the SBU’s account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are completed and documented.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for participating in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practices, improvement of processes and productivity improvement.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Sales function by providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.
About You:
In order to be considered for this role, you must possess the following selection criteria:
- Hold Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent from an accredited and renowned University.
- Have at least 3 years’ sales experience within an international luxury hospitality industry or a recognized blue-chip organization.
- Strong sales and account management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and acumen
- Strong understanding of core hotel operations
- Good communication, negotiating and relationship-building skills
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills
- Possess a high level of written and verbal business English
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
