Scope: R&D Leadership for Formulation, Processing and Category Lead for NAMET Skin Care
Main Purpose of the role: - Oral Care is an important category for NAMET with turnover
150m Euro. * The category is growing profitably and needs leadership to support the growing program
- There is a need to support SC onshoring activities and the relocation on production from KSA to Mashreq
- The R&D role is central to leading the Oral Care business, ensuring growth continuity through delivering Innovation, Margin Improvement projects, SC Support, and Business leadership on trends and local activation support.
- This is achieved through leading the R&D agenda for all countries in NAMET, and managing R&D resources to deliver the program, with support from regional and global R&D teams.
Main Accountabilities: - Responsible for leading the Formulation and Processing program, and overseeing all category initiatives for R&D as the Category lead
- Would be a key member of the R&D NAMET Management Team across Africa
- Responsible for shaping and providing input to the technical aspects of formulation development and product testing, ensuring local needs are met in rolling out global mixes
- Leads the savings agenda and partnership with SC for margin improvement
- Leads the processing agenda and strategic direction on SC Support projects
- Responsible for managing resources and people and managing budgets
- Responsible for risk management, claims and legal compliance based on local legislation and regulatory requirements
- Responsible to build capability to support the strategic agenda for NAMET
- Would participate in talent development within the geography and be responsible for long term talent development and short-term people management, including performance management and coaching
- Will develop a working knowledge of consumer habits within the region
- Would be responsible for business partnering and stakeholder management which includes stakeholders such as country Chairman, Brand Development and Brand Building Directors, Customer and SC Directors, and Global R&D Directors
- Responsible for local business partnering, including providing project activation support
- Responsible for formulation support on projects and conducting factory trials and reporting
- Responsible for partnering with consumer carelines by providing technical input and insights
- Would be a key role player in managing quality issues with SC
- Management of pilot plant-related activities where required

Relevant Experience: - Worked in a formulation or processing role in the FMCG Industry
- Experience in leading and managing a formulation teams at Management Level for at least 1 year
- Experience in the Personal Care category, preferably Oral, would be an added advantage
- Experience as a regional technical project leader running regional/local projects
- Having worked remotely and with global teams
