Organisation Unit Purpose
The Unit is tasked with measuring and controlling Credit Risk. This is done through: a) the development of Credit Risk Policies that follow the UAE Market dynamics but also incorporate the specific Risk Appetite of the Bank in order to acquire and maintain healthy and diversified Credit Portfolios. b) the development of analytical tools and Risk MIS to support the identification and control of Credit Risk. c) the development and implementation of a comprehensive collections strategy.
Job Purpose To design and develop Collection Strategies across Collection buckets to Improve Collections Performance. Ensure that the strategies are implemented adequately to get optimum results and measure the results against expectations.
To review /monitor Scorecards developed by Credit Risk and devise a suitable implementation strategy.

Collections Strategy Governance Improvement in collection Flow Rates across products Develop a Collections Strategy document encompassing all collections related activities in the Bank and ensure that the processes are followed as laid out in the document
Setting the annual control plan for Collections and track performance on a monthly basis Monitoring results and gap analysis if plan is not met; implementation of corrective actions
Break down the Loss forecasts into collections roll rates and recovery rates
Track Account-to-Collection Ratios (ACR) by bucket to optimize collections performance
Segmentation analysis /Decision Trees across collections buckets Models that have a good separation between the goods and the bad accounts Segmentation analysis has to be conducted using analytical tools like SAS and strategies for each segment have to be deployed across buckets.
System enhancements related to collections Key drivers are ENR growth; revenue and delinquency performance Any new system changes in collections would have to be approved by the strategy team
New Initiatives Better Resolution rates and recovery rates Devise Champion Challenger programs showing Cost Vs Benefit analysis driving higher resolution rates across products and buckets
Portfolio Quality Report / Monthly MIS reporting and providing all information for Collections Performance Committee. Detailed portfolio analysis
Monthly MIS reporting Apprising senior management with Portfolio performance on a quarterly basis. Highlight and recommend areas of concern or scope of business enhancements.
Internal / External Relationships and Committee Memberships (Internal relationships cover other units within the organisation; External relationships relate customers, governing bodies, suppliers etc; Committees include formal forums where membership is nominated)
