Job Summary: The Assistant Store Manager will support the Manager in the management of the store in an effort to achieve preset sales goals and provide superior customer service based on the core values of Goodwill Industries.
Job Description Essential Functions - Maintain staffscus on reaching preset store sales, donations and processing goals.
- Be available to customers and provide prompt and accurate checkout.
- Must be on the sales floor and ready to work by scheduled time. Must work assigned schedule. Must be ready and willing to work before or after scheduled time if store-staffing levels are low.
- Keep store well stocked, displayed and clean.
- Give prompt assistance to people wishing to donate and know Goodwill can and cannot accept.
- Offer every donor a receipt.
- Verify bank deposit and cash drawer at close of business and responsible for communicating over/shorts to Accounting.
- Must drop bank deposit and be followed by a member of the Goodwill store staff.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns and refunds, exchanges and price changes.
- Provide key part of training program on store level by ensuring proficiency in all areas both personally and in store staff members.
- Implement marketing plan of company.
- Create and maintain overall store presentation.
- Work in other stores as needed.
- Assist Store Manager in completion of all store paperwork such as monthly safety form, weekly schedule, supply order form, non-taxable sales log, daily deposit information, retail donation activity summary and donation activity report.
- Communicate shipping and transportation concerns to store manager or in manager's absence with the appropriate processing personnel and senior retail management personnel.
- Provide input to the Store Managers on Customer Service Associate and Sales Associate performance reviews.
- Provide input to Senior Management decisions
- Must wear professional attire.
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
- Regular, reliable attendance as defined in Goodwillttendance policy.
Minimum Qualifications Required Skills: Education Experience - One year of management experience is required.
Knowledge and Skills - Able to effectively communicate with other store employees.
- Must be able to read.
- Must be able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Must be able to push/pull loads weighing over 50 pounds continuously.
- Must be able to work under direct supervision and independently.
- Must have own transportation.
