Title: E&I Field Engineer (Construction)
Contract: 5 Months Contract

Note: we need candidates with construction background (not Precom/commissioning background).
Job overview: As part of the Construction Management team, the Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer-is responsible for providing field engineering support to construction activity related to the E&I scope (Package l&2). Reporting functionally to the Project Field Engineer through the Lead Field Engineer for E&I, in all undertakings the E&I Field Engineer supports the project & contract schedule, the project budget and complies with the project safety standards, the project quality standards and the design and specifications.
This is a site based position.
Job description: - Complies with Project Site Work Rules at all times.
- Takes direction from Lead E&I Engineer, and General E&I Superintendent for day-to-day activities, works with Contract Superintendent/Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day activities.
- Attends and participates in construction meetings, such as Toolbox meetings, Quantity Unit Rate Report meetings, Three Week Lookahead meetings, Contract Progress meetings and Readiness Review meetings, as directed.
- Provides Field Engineering coverage to support ongoing construction, coordinating with the Lead FE for E&I packages.
- Progressively performing inspections and initiating documentation for refinery plant electrical system installations on an ongoing basis, related to single line and schematic wiring diagrams, equipment and cable schedules. Switchgear, switchboards, distribution boards, transformers, generators, power and control wiring and terminations, Instrument hook up drawings, loop and PID drawings.
- Reviews Contractor's inspection and test records to ensure all relevant quality documentation is complete and available at the time of turnover.
- Reviews Contractor Inspection and Test plans for construction activities.
- Performs inspections for witness and hold points associated with construction activities listed in the Contractor Inspection and Test Plans for assigned packages.
- Ensuring installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards and codes.
- Reviews and approves contractor As-Built (Redline) drawings.
- Generate quality surveillances.
- Coordinate and monitor the interfaces for electrical/instrumentation data exchange to support the construction automation plan and the project controls program requirements at the jobsite.
- Reads, understands and follows project procedures.
- Reads, understands and competently interprets engineering drawings and documents; identifies potential issues in advance, as necessary.
- Coordinates daily activities with Electrical/instrumentation Field Engineers.
- Attends training and inductions, as necessary
- Liaises with 3rd party verification subcontractor(s) to ensure the required verification inspections and test are performed correctly and in accordance with the schedule.
- Coordinates and performs necessary site inspections of contractor work activities related to permanent scope to ensure compliance with project and vendor specifications.
- Undertakes inspection and review of materials and material certificates to ensure compliance with project and vendor specifications.
- Ensures that all inspection reports are accurate and that all related documents are current status.
- Verification of installed quantities reported by the contractors
- Engagement in cable management process reviewing and approving cables requested by the contractors.
- Work with other Electrical/Instrumentation Field Engineers in resolving discrepancies and ambiguities related to quality of construction activities.
- Coordinates with engineering to ensure the latest engineering drawings are available to the contractors.
- Engages Contractors to help educate and understand compliant quality practices.
- Identifies and reports all nonconforming work and coordinates with the contractors to ensure necessary rectification is completed adequately.
- Stands in for Lead Field Engineer E&l, when delegated.
- Engages in the preventative maintenance process, coordinates with the responsible Contractor and competently utilize the equipment maintenance system tools, as necessary.
- Coordinates with BSAP Coordinator to ensure applicable BSAPs are configured with the correct information needed to ensure support to ongoing construction is maintained.
- Coordinates with Field Engineer Setroute coordinator to ensure correct population design data in Setroute, Print Setroute cards and report the quantity back to the system.
- Fulfils responsibilities in accordance with the Leadership Model.
- Fulfils responsibilities in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
Requirements: - Bachelors' degree from a recognized tertiary institution in Electrical Engineering or related science discipline.
- Strong computer competence and literacy — Word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
- Experience working in Middle-Eastern regions.
- Technical and Installation knowledge of Control System engineering in Mining and Metal industry, Job experience of various types of field Instrumentation, DCS and PLC installation.
- Knowledge of valve sizing, flow meter signaling and 10 loading.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the engineering/construction field with 3 to 5 years' experience in heavy industrial construction. Preferably Electrical and related scope.
- Direct experience in project engineering on refinery projects.
- Direct experience as a Design Engineer responsible for Electrical scope, preferably on Mining Alumina-related projects.
- Excellent (English) written, data and oral skills.
- Ability to engage with staff from all levels.
- Ability to prioritize work and perform well under pressure.
