Capacity management is a critical endeavor for a leading bank group to get more out of their IT investments.
Without comprehensive, effective capacity management, Group IT teams have to resort to being reactive rather than
proactive. This makes it difficult to manage current infrastructure, capacity demands and also significantly hinders
Group ITs ability to support emerging requirements and initiatives.
Core operational objectives include:
- Maximizing resource utilization in order to reduce investments and costs. while addressing the increasingly pressing demand to support business agility.
- Performing strategic IT infrastructure planning that guarantees capacity to be available when needed while providing acceptable service/application performance levels and enhancing budgeting accuracy and intelligence in order to more effectively manage expenses and new investments.
- Strengthening service level agreement (SLA) definition and compliance to meet or exceed availability, performance and response time requirements and Improving visibility and transparency in terms of how business users are consuming IT resources.
Essential Job Requirements:
The Capacity Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring that there is adequate IT Capacity to meet required
levels of service. Ensure that senior Group IT management is correctly advised on how to match Capacity and
demand, and to ensure that use of existing Capacity is optimized.
Job requirement include:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field is highly preferred; however, equivalent work experience will not be overlooked.
- Certified Project Management (PMP / Prince 2)
- Previous experience and extensive knowledge with performance and capacity management.
- Have understanding and experience in a capacity management covering cloud, server, storage, networks, visualized environments, applications, databases and associated tool sets.
- Must be good at budgets and math, since forecasting, statistical analysis and modeling are part of the job.
- Must be highly detailed in their work, very influencing, engaging and people oriented.
- Experience with project management or lead technical role in large enterprise wide projects.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
- Extensive work experience with large sets of data and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent service to internal partners and varying levels of management.
- Effective communication ,Team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors, IT, and business personnel.
Prior work experience required:
- 8 years experience as lead technical role in large
- enterprise wide projects
- 5 years of experience in performance and capacity
- management and working with associated tool sets
- 4 years of experience in Finance / Banking industry
- 2 years of experience in ITIL Service Management
