Job Description - The Analyst will undertake detailed and focused sell-side research with an institutional focus on their assigned business sectors and companies.
- The Analyst will combine a strong quantitative skill set with a range of qualitative skills in order to effectively communicate their research in writing and verbally to clients.
- The Analyst will also work closely with the Chief Economist, ensuring that sectoral analysis is aligned with the macro view, and supporting him in tasks such as database management and cross-border risk analysis. In addition, we seek someone with the highest level of ethical integrity.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Saudi equity market and the sectors/companies assigned.
- Develop and maintain management contacts in companies under coverage and interact with them on a regular basis.
- Conduct detailed research (both primary and secondary) on the assigned sectors/companies and generate investment ideas mainly for an institutional client base.
- Write and publish detailed initiation reports and updates (based on company results/major events) on assigned sectors/companies.
- Provide BUY/SELL/HOLD recommendations.
- Interact with clients about investment ideas and participate in road shows, seminars and other related events.
- Maintain constant coverage of industry-related news, trends, and developments. Disseminate insight when appropriate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Devise and perform your own primary research methods, keeping abreast of trends and sentiment in the market.
- Assist the department in developing/maintaining/updating databases.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or related areas from a well-known institution. Candidates with an MBA and/or CFA qualification (charter holders/actively pursuing the program) will be preferred.
- At least 5years of equity research experience in the investment banking industry
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills encompassing finance and related areas of financial investment.
- Thorough understanding of various valuation approaches and methods.
- Good understanding of macro-economic issues, particularly with regard to country analysis and risk assessment.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and oral English). Arabic speaking/writing preferred but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Bloomberg.
- Should be confident, hardworking, result oriented and a good team player.
