As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Medical Assistant, Credentialed:
The Medical Assistant - Credentialed performs delegated medical functions under the direction of a provider, authorized practitioner or RN in the delivery of care for all assigned patient populations, in accordance with all policy, procedure and practice guidelines. Supports providers in the delivery of patient care services. Prepares examining areas and patients for examination, procedure or treatment by a provider or authorized practitioner. Obtains vital signs and records patientedical history and other relevant data. Assists provider with patient examinations, treatments and/or procedures. Administers injections or assists with treatments/procedures under direction of authorized practitioner. The Medical Assistant - Credentialed will perform administrative duties: schedules, coordinates and monitors patient appointments, admissions and/or procedures, organize/maintain medical records and performs business-related tasks such as procedural/diagnostic coding, prepares submittable insurance forms. As a health care advocate, supports patient focused care and provides patient instruction
The schedule for this position is: 8-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
In order to qualify for this role, you must possess:
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school.
- If not certified, must attain AAMA certification within one year of employment
- Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting
Preferred: - Experience in a clinic setting
