Job Purpose: The jobholder is required to lead all Product Control activities ensuring compliance with all Daily PLs Controls and financial requirements adding value to the planning budgeting and performance of Group Treasury in supporting AVP Product Control
The jobholder is responsible for the Profit and Loss reporting and substantiation price testing controls and maintenance of the accounting financial reporting systems and processes at Group Treasury for the preparation and accuracy of its MIS and financial reports and for comprehensive analyses and reporting of business performance
Main Task:
Review new products offerings and ensure that accounting plans comply to procedures and guidelines
Constant review of accounting policies to ensure compliance at all times
Development of accounting procedures and implementation thereof
Review of profit and loss accounts and ensure that reputed figures reflect the true business position
Review of daily P& L reports.
Review of cost center reported figures and instituting corrections where necessary
Support business decision making process through quality analyses, inputs and views as required.
Review daily P &L movements to ensure that it is in line with business activity and market moves
Engage all stake holders to ensure any accounting inaccuracies are rectified.
Development of financial control systems (both manual and automated) by providing feedback on Treasury’s needs.
Review hedge effectiveness for fair value hedges and cash flow hedges
Review impairment analysis and provide recommendations for impaired securities.
Review market conformity analysis
Ensure reports are produced and distributed on timely basis
Review all procedures and ascertain that they are updated from time to time to reflect the current status
Review internal control practices and ensure adherence to policies
Development of financial control systems (both manual and automated) by providing feedback on treasury’s needs.
Qualifications University Degree and a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CFA etc)
A qualified accountant with previous experience (min 5years) in banking/ Financial Services
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Min 5- 7 years of work experience in banking/ Financial Services
Regional experience in GCC
Should possess sound knowledge of treasury products & transactions and have knowledge of relevant banking regulations across range of treasury products like MM, IRD, Fx, Futures, Assets Swaps etc.
