Basic Qualifications High School graduate or the equivalent.Strong technical competency with MS Office, computers, databases, electronic folder and record organization. Experience with inventory management tools.Must be willing to attend a dental chair training (out-of-state), as required.
Additional Qualifications Associates degree strongly preferred. Dental office and/or academic clinic background a plus. Must be flexible with inheriting new, grade appropriate, duties. Excellent customer-service and communication skills. Can-do attitude is essential. Ability to work in a diverse environment and follow organizational systems. Mechanical Abilities and technical training on equipment repair is desirable.
Physical Requirements: Able to be on your feet for long periods of time, climb stairs and lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Additional Information All staff working in the Harvard Dental Center (HDC) are expected to fulfill certain immunization requirements before beginning employment at the HDC.

Duties & Responsibilities The Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), located in the heart of Boston's Longwood Medical Campus, ranks one of the preeminent schools of dental medicine in the country. The Dental Center houses a teaching practices, where treatment is delivered by pre-doctoral dental students and advanced graduate dental students as well as our Faculty Group Practice, with care provided by Harvard faculty members.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Labs and Clinical Materials, this position is part of a team that oversees all HDC materials that span budgets of $2.25M in dental materials and lab orders. The successful candidate will be able to act as a team player, and takes the lead on a variety of time-sensitive projects such as directly participating and contributing in the development of a Teaching Practices (TP) dispensary system. We are looking for a person to serve as a primary source of information to students and faculty on choices of authorized dental materials available. Excellent customer service skills are essential. This person is responsible for inventory management, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance. We are looking for a person able to implement best practices in materials management, control the issuance and security of equipment and instruments, and track vendor orders to ensure all are processed in a timely fashion and within budget. The successful candidate must be highly organized, have the ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people, demonstrate initiative, and participate in a team as well as work well independently. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
