Job Purpose To ensure management of mechanical maintenance related activities including management and oversight of the Prime Contractor(PC) for mechanical maintenance activities, review of PC's maintenance documentation and deliverables, development of Maintenance Oversight document, licensing support, recruitment support and mentoring for Appendix-U maintenance staff.
Key Activities & Account-abilities
1. Safety and Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all work carried out is of the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with the department and company-wide quality assurance program, in order to effectively support safe and reliable plant operation
- Support continuous learning and application of industry best practices in order to maintain the highest quality of maintenance workmanship
- Promptly report maintenance quality related issues and plant equipment deficiencies to line management
2. Work Management - Mechanical Maintenance
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of mechanical area of responsibility and integrate maintenance organization actions with the functions of other appropriate station and corporate organizations
- Oversee Prime Contractor maintenance activities and verify Prime Contractor progress and performance Measurement
- Review Prime Contractor maintenance related documentation including maintenance and test procedures, drawings, test reports, equipment and tool list, spare parts and consumables list, etc.
- Support ENEC licensing departments for construction and operating licensing activities related with BNPP maintenance activities and the establishing BNPP maintenance agreements
- Gather information and knowledge for Nuclear Fuel inspection and Fuel Loading
- Ensure work is planned and executed in a manner that results in radiological exposure as low as reasonably achievable
- Support recruitment of mechanical maintenance staff to timely implement App-U training program
- Manage mentoring and reinforce individual ownership of mechanical maintenance staff.
3. Training and Qualifications
- Successfully complete all required initial and continuous training courses and requirements in order to attain and maintain the required qualification and certification in areas of specialization
- Strive to improve maintenance technology level, understanding of overall plant operation, and impact of maintenance on plant equipment and systems
4.Budget
- Prepare the section/department budget respectively, and monitor financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment
5.People Management
- Manage the effective achievement of organization's objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.
- Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
- Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.
6.Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships
7.HSE
- Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, by delivery of the HSE Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Skills Communication & Working Relationships
- Coordinate multiple activities and interact with colleagues, management and other internal department staff to ensure safe and effective maintenance execution
- Strong English communication skills and preferred Arabic communication skills
Minimum Requirements - Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Certifications Nil
- Experience 6 years plant mechanical maintenance experience
Technical Skills - Proficiency with current computer business applications
- Strong background in math and science

Preferred Requirements - Professional Certifications: Technical certificates in the related job area
- Experience:Experience of APR 1400 or OPR 1000 technology including engineering, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance
Technical Skills: - Able to provide constructive/critical feedback to others, including supervision
- Able to participate effectively on or lead a team
- Willingness to learn and develop personally within the organization
