Job Description Responsibilities: - You will be responding to events and exceptions in the network infrastructure that were raise by users and different support team.
- You will be accountable for determining, developing and executing changes in the network adhering to the Organization's Change Management process with inputs from the Management process, events/exceptions and/or other Engineering teams.
- Other responsibilities and tasks include performing various network assessments, participating in projects supporting our Operations Excellence objectives, Change Management assessment and trending analysis. Work closely with SOC analyst to address the issues raised by the SOC team.
- You must be able to prioritize remediation of issues in a 24 x 7 environment with critical uptime requirements.
- Support multiple technical teams in 24 x 7 environment operational environments with high uptime requirements. Varied shift schedules may include day or evening hours.
You will be well-versed with the following:
- Strong Practical knowledge of Fortigate, Sonic wall and Cisco firewall with Switches and Routers.
- Excellent analytical, configuration and troubleshooting focus on networking devices.
- Knowledge of Forti and Sonic wall analyzer.
- Working Knowledge on Cisco Catalyst and Nexus portfolio, Proxy, NAC and IPS/IDS.
- Knowledge of F5 BigIP deployment and support.
- Sound Understanding with protocols/technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, vPC, VPN, security negotiation and key exchange mechanisms etc.
- Network services such as DNS, DHCP, Radius/TACACS, SNMP, Ether-Channel, LACP, PAgP, LDAP, NetFlow, syslog and WMI etc.
- Working with VLAN, VRF, HSRP, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, access control lists (ACLs), security and network traffic analysis.
- In addition, Internet savvy in a production environment with regards to security, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, syslog, and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
- Working with multiple vendor's hardware, including Cisco, Fortigate and Sonic-wall.
- Interfacing with vendors, other IT admins, and end-users as necessary to resolve the issue.
- Using and administrating of operating systems (Windows, Linux) network concepts & devices and peripheral hardware. Perform systems testing, hardening and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.).
- Use of a wide variety of point monitoring tools and procedures to identify, triage, and escalate IT service degradation or outages.
- Diverse multi system environment exposure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Should be in the position to be a good team player and guide technical team members.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in the IT related focus or equivalent and 5+ years' strong experience in the IT networking field. Working in the NOC environment experience is strongly preferred.
The below certifications are highly desirable in addition to the above requirements:
- CCNA, CCNP certification in either R/S, security.
