RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Plan and design plant layouts and facilities
2) Study new machinery and facilities and recommend or select efficient combinations
3) Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures
4) Conduct studies and implement programs to determine optimum inventory levels for production and to allow optimum utilization of machinery, materials, and resources
5) Analyze costs of production
6) Design, develop and conduct time studies and work simplification programs
7) Determine human resource and skill requirements and develop training programs
8) Develop performance standards, evaluation systems and wage and incentive programs
9) Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities and production or administrative systems
10) Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs
11) Establish programs and conduct studies to enhance industrial health and safety or to identify and correct fire and other hazards
12) Evaluate or assess industrial facilities
13) Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff and other engineers.
