Responsibilities Wood is currently looking for a PDS Administrator to strengthen our team. This is a Home Office position based in Dubai, but it may involve occasional visits to the Client offices and/or site in Iraq. Normal working time will be 48 hours per week (9 hours per day).
Reporting to the Engineering Manager the candidate will carry out assigned PDS Administrator duties as part of a multi-discipline project team.
- Maintains the configuration of software to meet both Company standards and project specific requirements
- Maintains PDS catalogues and specifications for the project
- Converts files from a variety of formats as applicable for correct import/export to/from the PDS model
- Understands the scope of the project and creates PDS project database structures that will enable the 3D design and subsequent creation of deliverables from the PDS project databases This includes interfacing with other project databases (Oracle, Engineering Design Database, etc.) with the PDS databases
- Primarily accountable for design, drafting, model creation, module and creation of catalogue and specifications
- Carry out administration tasks such as maintaining users, teams, database access and maintain MTO, report templates and commodity codes
- Coordinate multi-discipline design activities using Microstation, AutoCAD, PDS and SP3D/SPI/SPPID
- Provide support for PDS and Navisworks Review
- Identify clash resolution in 3D models and provide solutions for multi-discipline
Skills / Qualifications - Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, SPI, PDS – Minimum of 10 Years’ experience
- Experience of 3D modelling using PDS, SP3D and PDMS
- Experience in multi-discipline 3D model clash resolution, including piping, electrical equipment and infrastructure, instrumentation and control
- Must be eligible and willing to make occasional visits to Basra, Iraq
- Thorough awareness of international codes and standards
- A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of PDS
- Extensive experience with PDS administration (minimum 5 years), management and resolution of related issues
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Diploma or HNC in engineering (or relevant subject)
