Responsibilities Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A Lead Electrical Engineer with proven extensive experience in the design of Power Generation Stations, Overhead line System, Substations and Distribution Systems in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, and Infrastructure industries. Demonstrated leadership of a large team of electrical engineers and designers and experience in Conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering of medium to large scale projects required.
- Significant knowledge of industrial electrical infrastructure including design experience in HV, MV and LV, embedded generation, protection circuits, grid connections, HV and LV switchgear and substation.
- Shall be familiar with Electrical Design in Pipeline projects (Onshore/ offshore) which comprise of pipeline, compressor station facilities, main line block valve stations, scraper launching and receiving stations, CP installation, SCADA system, other related equipment / installations.
- Shall be responsible for review of Specification/ Datasheet/ Material Requisition/ Technical Bid Evaluation and Vendor Documents
- Shall be responsible for review of Electrical Calculations (Equipment/ Lighting/ Earthing/ Lightning Sizing Calculations) and Electrical Layouts
- Wide knowledge in Electrical Power System Studies (Load Flow, Motor Starting, Short Circuit Harmonic Analysis), Protection Philosophy & Protection Device Coordination in E-TAP.
- Knowledge in Smart Plant Electrical.
- Carrying the responsibility for the project success and providing strong direction for the team
- Plans and manages the work, managing the financial aspects of the electrical discipline, including the man-hour estimates and manage discipline goals
- Responsible for design integrity of electrical scope, performance of assigned staff, on-schedule delivery of the work within budget
- Understanding of Project business case and reflect this in the work environment such as productivity, schedule, workhour control, innovation etc.
- Should have involved in development and implementation of activities such as the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity for the department.
- Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects, and demonstrating this by example
- Should be responsible for ensuring that the Dept./Disciplines quality management system is followed taking into account any special contractual requirements
- Can work as an efficient team with project management and other disciplines, both within office and with client.
- Lead technical presentations to Clients and their representatives as required
- Contribute in people development (e.g. coach junior engineers).
- Serve as technical resource on all matters relating to electrical engineering
Skills / Qualifications - Minimum Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, and a minimum of 15 years in Oil & Gas industry, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore, and infrastructure industries.
- Leadership skills in Electrical Engineering with ability to handle complex projects
- Excellent communication and co-ordination skills (both verbal and written).
- Flexible with respect to work, location and timing
- Expert knowledge & understanding of Design practices, Construction Practices and Procedures.
- Wide knowledge of codes and industry standards IEEE, NFPA, API, IEC, ANSI/NEMA.
- Knowledge of Design of CP System Design and Heat Tracing System Design and procedures will be an added advantage.
