We are currently sourcing a Lead Electrical Designer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;
- Management and production of electrical drawings detailing the layout and installation of the electrical supporting infrastructure for the project, schematics and wiring diagrams, cable / MTO schedules and bulk material requisitions to support the project
- Application of Industry standard CAD systems (AutoCAD / Microstation) for the production of 2-D electrical drawings and 3-D modelling systems, such as PDS, PDMS or SP3D
- Managing the production and checking of common electrical design drawings and deliverables including Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Schematic/Connection Diagrams, General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-station Layouts, Lighting Layouts, Earthing Layouts, Hazardous Area Layouts, Cable & Drum Schedules
- Assist the project Electrical Lead Engineer in management of document (drawing) control system (DMS) and drawing production schedule planning (set-up and control)
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the activities, procedures and methods associated with electrical systems design development including: Cable Scheduling and Routing Design (above and below ground), Lighting Design (including lighting design software application), Earthing Systems, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical Bulk Material Take-off and Requisitioning
- Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures
- Keep abreast of developments in electrical engineering and suggest ways to improve efficiency and service
- Assist in the development and training of personnel and participate in Proposal activities as required
- Liaise with other Disciplines and Client
Skills / Qualifications - BEng or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 15 years of experience in Electrical Design Projects
- Extensive relevant experience in a Lead Electrical Design role or similar design role with a good track record
- Experience of carrying out conceptual design, FEED and EPC work in Oil & Gas industry, Infrastructure
- Familiarity with international design standards e.g. IEC/CENELEC/ATEX (European) and ANSI/NEC (American)
- Self-motivated who can work independently or as part of a team, and take ownership and leadership of issues
- Flexible with respect to work, location and timing
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
