Role Summary/Purpose:
The Field Service Engineer, under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service and commissioning of products and services.
In this role, you will provide technical support for installation / commissioning of projects, maintenance, breakdown emergency support and remote troubleshooting. You will conduct field missions related to PLC/SCADA control systems for the Industrial, Power, and Oil & Gas sectors.
Essential Responsibilities: - Commissioning of PLC based control systems for onshore/offshore sites
- Conduct site missions in the EMEA region for both offshore and onshore sites including site surveys, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, commissioning, site modifications during retrofits and modernization
- Support the Project Engineers and Managers in all project phases; requirements definition and analysis, engineering documents production, internal testing, and factory acceptance Testing.
- Review and comment on wiring diagrams, cable termination, I/O lists and I/O allocation, GA drawings, ..etc
- Support Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Sales teams during proposal preparation.
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experience
- at least 5 years experience in GE PLC systems 90-70, 90-30, Rx3i and SCADA systems : Cimplicity , iFix
- Knowledge of IT and communication systems
- Experience on industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Genius Bus, ProfiBus, profinet, ...etc)
- To complete and pass all offshore requirements (Bosiet, offshore Medical tests, H2S awareness,...etc)
Desired Characteristics: - Knowledge of Functional Safety Standards IEC61508, and IEC61511
- Knowledge and experience on GMR and MarkVie systems
- Certification on Cyber Security and computers hardening, white-listing, ..etc Oil and Gas
