Job Description The EHS Coordinator will act as the focal person for the EHS matters reporting to the Engineering Manager and to the Corporate EHS Manager and will be responsible for the Hospital's OSHMS Development and implementation.
Cooperate and liaise with all heads of departments, managers and employees, to ensure that OSHMS and Environmental policies and procedures are implemented and the EHS regulated practices are in place and in compliance with the Department of Health Standards, Abu Dhabi OSHMS System Framework requirements and in line with the organization's target, objectives and the corporate EHS strategy.
Requirements • Bachelor of science/Engineering in occupational Health/Hygiene or other related /integrated EHS
bachelor degree or other relevant education.
- Master's degree in EHS is an added advantage.
- Lead Auditor in both Environment and OHS management systems, IRCA or other organization registered
auditor is an advantage.
- 7+ years of experience in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment management systems, preferably
with Abu Dhabi healthcare OSHMS, with healthcare focus is required.
- Knowledge and experience in Joint Commission International (JCI) standards, accreditation
requirements and local and international EHS laws and regulations/EHS best practices.
- Experience in internal EHS Audit and third party and Regulatory authorities Audit preparation.
- Registered as OHS Practitioner - OSHAD (Qudorat program) Grade A /B, as per OSHAD requirements
with proven evidence to upgrade grade if not A Grade A practitioner.
- Experience in Health sector is essential.
- Excellent command in writing, speaking English language, knowledge of Arabic language is preferred.
- Ability to work with Senior members and collaboratively within a team of highly qualified technical and
administrative staff members.
- Ability to develop policies, procedures and plans.
- Ability to understand work ideas clearly.
- Ability to document and presents reports.
- Good computer skills, with ability to access, input, analyses and retrieve information from computers
easily.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel to conduct assignments across the group facilities, other hospitals, clinics, pharmacies
as assigned by the corporate EHS Manager
Key Outputs The EHS Coordinator reports EHS topics to the hospital and corporate level and works collaboratively to assure compliance towards the EHS federal and local requirements, such as the, the Abu Dhabi Environment, Health and Safety Centre (OSHAD), Joint Commission International Accreditation JCI, Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), Abu Dhabi Centre waste management, ISO 14001 certification, other related regulation or certification as applicable.
Ensuring the education programs are achieved with cooperation of the corporate EHS Manager and the learning and development department.
Participate in auditing, other EHS activities for other facilities as part of the group EHS team and readily completes other duties as assigned by the corporate EHS Manager and Engineering Manager.
