A chemical engineer designs and develops the processes that make a diverse range of products. Their work focuses on changing the chemical, biochemical and physical state of a substance to turn it into something else.
Duties and responsibilities: Testing new processes.
Collecting data required to make improvements and modifications.
Overseeing the construction of new plants.
Using and developing process simulation software to work out the best production methods.
Skills Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or any related field.
Maths and science skills, particularly chemistry.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Planning and organisational ability.
Excellent IT skills.
