General Information Reporting to the US Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will actively participate in TransCanadaax function to ensure compliance with ASC740 Accounting for Income Taxes and federal and state tax reporting requirements. The Tax Accountant will provide tax accounting and tax compliance support to various stakeholders including supporting accounting during the quarterly close process and management reporting.
Responsibilities: - Prepare the tax provision calculations;
- Prepare quarterly provision reports for management and external auditors;
- Prepare federal and state quarterly estimated tax installments;
- Prepare federal and state corporate income tax returns;
- Prepare and/or review depreciation reports used for return filings and forecasts;
- Assist with federal and state income and franchise tax audits;
- Assist with special projects as assigned by management;
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Education
Qualifications: - Experience in accounting for income taxes preferred;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Knowledge of OneSource tax software, CCH research tools and PowerTax fixed asset software a plus;
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred;
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Excellent organizational skills that allow the candidate to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities;
- Strong team player who is able to work well with others;
- Good communication skills;
- Detail oriented.
Education/Experience: - Bacheloregree preferably in Accounting;
- Minimum of 4 yearsperience in federal and/or state income tax;
