Position: Assistant Probation Officer
Location: Waukegan, Illinois, United States
Salary: $34,814.50 Annually
Job Summary: Responsible for monitoring and documenting compliance with probationary terms and investigating fraudulent claims or non-compliance.
Becoming a probation officer would allow you to be involved with the judicial court within local government, ranging from interviewing, investigating backgrounds and assigning probationers to appropriate Public Service worksites. Your day will consist of recruiting work sites and coordinating ongoing projects in the community, as well as data entry, reception and urinalysis testing of clients as needed.
In order to be successful in this role you should have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Individuals should have a working knowledge of finding information through research and relationships; a desire to work with individuals sentenced to perform public service; possess the ability to effectively problem solve and have the ability to work both individually and in a team atmosphere.
