General Ledger Accountant
Description: 1. Basic knowledge and understanding of GAAP
2. Prepare and record monthly journal entries
3. Prepare monthly general ledger analysis and/or reconciliations for selected balance sheet accounts
4. Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns for TN and TX
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
6. Monitor and audit travel and expenses
7. Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
8. Support internal and external auditors by providinig requested financial information
9. Perform queries and prepare analytical reports as required
10. Assist management with any ad hoc projects/requests
Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills (vlookups, macros, pivot tables)
AS400, JDEdwards, Concur, Oracle experience preferred but not required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple duties and tasks concurrently
Ability to formulate process improvements
Strong attention to detail
Self motivated, organized, pro-active, strong sense of urgency, and good time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Customer service oriented communication skills and and beneficial interactions with all customers
Can work effectively with the team in an environment where change and flexibility is essential
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications Qualifications: BS Degree in Accounting
