Applications are invited for the position of Vice President – EXPO 2020.
This position is within the Business Development Department and reporting to Chief Commercial Officer.
The job purpose is to lead and oversee the management and operations of EKFC participation in EXPO2020. The role is responsible for the overall leadership of the function and will plan, develop and execute Emirates Flight Catering overall EXPO2020 strategy and day to day operations covering all the pavilions, Food & Beverage outlets, hospitality services, staff catering & other ancillary services. The Job holder will play a key role in ensuring customer relationship management for senior and important clients at the EXPO facility.
The job holder will work very closely with the internal and external stakeholders to achieve overall results and deliver excellent guest experience. This role will also be accountable for reaching profitability and guests’ satisfaction results and will be the go-to-person for VIPs and dignitaries.
This will be a two year contract role.
Key Accountabilities: · Define and deliver EXPO 2020 strategy and operational business results for EKFC. The job holder will lead the oversight, planning & management of the end to end activities for EKFC to ensure achievement of an effective, profitable and customer centric results. The end to end activities include people, technology, facilities, process and business and customer management.
· Manage key stakeholders, both internal and external including Expo team, suppliers, customers and management within EKFC for their full support to the day-to-day operational needs. The job holder has to drive clients’ satisfaction and retention through focus on customer centricity approach and high quality operational practices and standards. The job holder will also partnering with external stakeholder for joint bids and service delivery.
· Define a framework of KPIs to monitor performance and results and create transparency in reporting.
· Propose and manage budgets (Opex, CapEX and manpower) to ensure smooth functioning of the EXPO2020 project and ensure resource optimisation.
· Lead and manage the business and customer development teams in product development, drive fulfilment of business proposals, new clients’ acquisition, and delivery of monthly financial targets of F&B outlets, services and other ventures.
· Create, implement and lead service recovery processes & procedures to ensure business continuity for F&B outlets, pavilions and other businesses.
· Ensure full compliance to Expo & EKFC operating standards, protocols and controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
· Provides day to day leadership to sales & operational teams to achieve revenue and performance goals. Responsible for people management activities including: recruitment, on job training, integration into the team culture, values, performance management framework and engagement activities.
· Proactively drive and manage operational issues, discrepancies and service failures and ensure appropriate action is taken for sustained results and customer recovery. Conduct daily briefings with the EXPO202 team to ensure that the required information and updates are shared to run Pavilions & resources effectively.
· Ensure EKFC EXPO202 project is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and government requirements and aligned to best practice.
Preferred Qualifications: · The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotelier or hospitality professional or large scale event organiser with outstanding leadership and management skills and extensive hands-on experience. The role requires the job holder to have had experience in the end to end management of event/hotel set up services and be accessible round the clock when required including weekends, holidays, and nights to respond to service delivery and customer engagement issues.
· Previous event management experience including managing pavilions at previous Expos in London or Milan and or large events like Olympics catering / hospitality facilities is preferred.
· A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel with clear record of accomplishment.
· Excellent analytics and data management skills.
· 10-15 years’ experience as a General Manager or the lead role in the hospitality industry, with significant international experience, ideally including experience in remote locations.
· A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
