Job Summary Under minimum supervision, applies principles of accounting and financial analysis to produce financial information and reports. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare document business transactions and record as appropriate. Analyzes financial information detailing profits, margins and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
Required Education / Certifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field
- Masters degree in Accounting or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred
Primary Responsibilities & Scope
- Managing accounting for Oil Field Services segment of the Company
- Preparing and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to US GAAP requirements
- Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes forecasts for variances
- Identifying, implementing and supporting process improvements to gain efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting practices
- Passion for working in high paced environment with exposure to finance and operational business leaders
- Investigating complex financial transactions and preparing reports summarizing the findings and providing recommendations
- Surveying operations to ascertain accounting requirements and recommending, developing, and maintaining solutions to business and financial issues
- Prepares journal entries
- Keeping up to date on knowledge in field as it relates to business
Required Experience - 3 - 5 years experience in the Accounting field
- Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively
- Must be detailed oriented
- Experience in Excel, intermediate level a plus
- Knowledgeable of accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to identify opportunities for cost savings/profit enhancement and efficiency improvements
- Strong initiative and ability to analyze, question and summarize data for decision making
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Direct experience in the petroleum industry a plus
