The Role - To manage the laundry department as professional, efficient and flexible service department ensuring maximum satisfaction of Laundry operations, consistent with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts standards through planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Laundry Department Operation and administration.
1.To be responsible for the supervision/ co-ordination of all the laundry staff by ensuring that all serviced offered by the laundry department are available and carried out with the utmost efficiency.
2.To have a full working knowledge of all the washing, dry cleaning, presser machines and all equipment utilized in the laundry for operation and maintenance.
3.To have a full knowledge and understanding of all the chemical products utilized and their proper and economical use. Proper storage the environmental and proper disposal of all toxic products.
4.To co-ordinate with materials department in ordering cleaning and laundry supplies and ensure there are sufficient supplies and up to established par.
5.To have a full knowledge of all the textiles and their proper care.
6.To have a full knowledge of all washing, dry cleaning maintenance etc. procedures of all the laundry department procedures.
7.To check washing, dry cleaning formulas as well as the consumption of cleaning material. Ensure corrections are made if required.
8.Constantly check the linen, uniform for cleanliness and defects recommended replacement to the Housekeeping Manager if necessary.
9.To supervise the distribution of all articles to ensure adequate supply of linen as well as the efficient handling of guest, managers and employees uniforms. Ensure proper controlling.
10.To maintain a record of consumption of all the chemicals per wash and establish a record and analyze.
11.To assist in the revision and updating of the Departmental Operations Manual on an as needed basis.
12.To assist in the formulation of the Annual Marketing Plan to establish a list of marketing activities in line with the compilation of the Annual Business Plan.
13.To maintain the Daily Log Book.
14.To plan the weekly roster and work schedules to ensure that the place of work is adequately staffed to handle the level of business.
15.To maintain work place communication board.
16.To submit all guest / staff incident reports.
17.To report “Lost & Found” items, and handle them in accordance to the Policy & Procedures.
18.To carry out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment as well as conducting monthly par stock checks.
19.To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
20.To ensure that all machines are well maintained.
21.To co-ordinate all repair and maintenance and issue repair and maintenance work.
