SUMMARY The Senior Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with broad knowledge of accounting principles to develop financial reports and forecasts. Senior Accountants provide daily support of all accounting functions and assists the Controller overseeing all aspects of the corporate accounting department. The Senior Staff Accountant works independently with minimum supervision to identify issues and assist with the development of processes that improve department s efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist with annual budgets, and financial forecasts and reports, including profit/loss statements by business unit.
- Track data and compile internal reports on assets, liabilities, and expenses.
- Lead and support month end closing with analysis of fixed costs and balance sheets.
- Assist with timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense management, cash control, banking, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
- Answers and resolves any internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries.
- Provides support and prepares account transaction detail for operating activity as well as special accounting or financial projects as requested by management.
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting business processes and policies that support internal controls.
- Broad experience of accounting statements, GL functions an numeric data.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns of multiple Fiore entities.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Conform with and abide by GAAP principles as well as accounting regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with understanding of financial data.
- Experience using MS Word, Excel Sheets and able to write reports.
- Must have very good verbal, including telephone and customer service, skills.
- Must have excellent work habits, willing to work the hours necessary to get the job done when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
- Discretion in handling financial, payroll, project and confidential information.
- High ethical conduct and professional values.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Required: Bachelor s degree in accounting with a minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a senior level accounting position.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with Viewpoint, Heavy job, or equivalent construction related industry software systems. CMA, CPA or CPP Certifications highly desirable.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory duties.
LANGUAGE SKILLS This position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
This job requires the ability to do math equations and summaries for reviewing and reporting statistical and budgetary information.
COMPUTER SKILLS
This job requires general computer knowledge; and requires knowledge in Microsoft Office and Viewpoint.
PHYSICAL:
Primary functions require the physical ability and mobility to work in an office and stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Occasional bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry or push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of Weight not to exceed 50 pounds. The position requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
