Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa is a luxury desert resort located 50km to the south east of Abu Dhabi in the Al Wathba District (40 minutes’ drive from Abu Dhabi). It consists of 103 keys in total (90 Guestrooms and 13 Villas), restaurants and bars, conference and meeting facilities, Talise spa and leisure facilities.
About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Hospitality professional to join the Pre-opening team in the Spa Department at Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa. The main purpose of the role is to manage customer requirements including scheduling and yield management for all arriving and in house guests.
Your key responsibilities will include: - To maximize spa revenue by applying yield management
- To assist in the building of an efficient team by taking an active interest in managing their performance, conducting appraisal and looking after their welfare, safety, training and development.
- To supervise and keep up to date the department’s orientation programs for new joiners
- To ensure that staff are given proper awareness training on the quality policy, vision, mission statement and hallmarks of the company.
- To monitor the results of the monthly CSI and maintain positive feedback by consistently providing quality service to our guests.
- To handle guests complaints and record all comments with corrective action plan
- To constantly evaluate the operation processes and procedures and recommend improvements solutions to the Spa Manger.
- To maximize profit through driving revenues and controlling costs within the framework stipulated.
- To control and achieve budget through planned initiatives.
- Ensure that s/he and the team adhere to all hotel and company standards, Business conduct and ethics, policies and procedures including Health, Hygiene & Safety.
- Mentor and performance manage the colleagues in right direction as per company policy
- Manage annual leave plan in effective manner to ensure data is managed correct same time reduction is maintained in annual leave balance.
About You:
In order to be considered for this role, you must possess the following selection criteria:
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree
- Qualification in hospitality / Leisure / Tourism
- Certified beautician and Masseur
- Holder of Health and Safety Certificate
- ITEC or CIBTAC Certificate
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Assistant Spa Manager in a luxury hotel or resort
- Cultural diverse workforce experience
- Other preferred languages: German, Chinese, French, Russian and Arabic
- High level of written and verbal Business English
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
This is a very "hands on" and demanding position so it is paramount that you work well in a team but are also able to set standards and lead by example at all times.
