We are seeking a Plant Accountant at our facility in Milan, MI. The City of Milan has its own historic downtown, and is a short drive from world renowned cultural, academic, and sports attractions in Ann Arbor as well as both Detroit and Toledo.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
The Plant Accountant candidate must be able to able to work across departments and lead the monthly financial closing process, ensure proper internal controls are in place and working as designed, and support management with proactive financial analysis that drives improvement in results. Fiduciary Responsibilities:
- Internal financial control responsibility
- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
- Inventory Management
- Month-end close process
- Forecasting and Monthly Ad Hoc Reporting
- Plant transactional systems oversight
- Oversight of Invoicing, A/R and A/P
- Records management
What you will Need: Education: - Bacheloregree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business
Basic Requirements: - At least 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience
- Basic understanding of a General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles
- Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
- Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automation
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (i.e. - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation etc.) PowerPoint (presentation creation and editing) and MS Word (document creation, formatting and editing etc.)
Knowledge ills - Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solving problems
- Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications: - Accounting coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting highly desired
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting Coursework
- Inventory management experience
- Experience providing timely information and service to internal business customers
- Experience as an accountant or analyst in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Public Accounting or Large Company Corporate Accounting
