POSITION TITLE: Senior Accountant
DEPT/LOCATION: Accounting/Corporate Office Century City, CA
REPORTS TO: Controller counting
The Westfield Accounting department is looking for a strong candidate to join its Corporate Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on involvement with accounting processes and financial analysis in a large company and possess advanced Microsoft Excel and solid ERP system skills. This Senior Accountant will collaborate with team members and must take ownership of assigned tasks to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The position reports to the Controller. This role offers a great experience for professional growth in corporate financial accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Timely preparation and recording of monthly financial closing entries (accruals, corporate allocations, overhead pushdown accounting, distributions/contributions, fees for services, etc), many of which will require a strong understanding of Westfieldwnership structure charts
· Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules for assigned entities
· Prepare quarterly tax reporting deliverables
· Prepare and Update work paper and roll forward schedules for the half-year review and year-end audit
· Act as a subject matter expert to analyze and record activity for select accounts across the portfolio
· Collaborate with the team on system implementations, testing and identifying process improvements
· Liaise with other departments regarding major transactions and intercompany settlements
· Document and update policies and procedures.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in analysis
· Assist Controller of Accounting on special projects
QUALIFICATIONS: · Bacheloregree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance
· Minimum five years financial accounting experience (corporate accounting and real estate preferred)
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
· Experience with the JD Edwards and TM1 systems is preferred
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Experience with analyzing and interpreting financial reports and legal documents
· Needs to be a self-starter and collaborate well with people in a team environment
· Must work effectively and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced, growth environment
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in analysis
