Opportunity International is seeking a part time Accountant. This position will be less than 20 hours a week and responsible for processing payroll twice a month in addition to other accounting responsibilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE Primary Responsibilities: - Responsible for selected monthly journal entries such as payroll and cash entries
- General ledger account analyses and reconciliations as assigned
- Monitor and record bank transactions. Prepare cash activity reports
- Investigates, analyzes and comments on variances of actual results to budget
- Responsible for administering and managing all aspects of the companyayroll, payroll tax and timekeeping systems Prepares related reports to management and various government entities
- Prepares monthly bank and investment account reconciliations for all OIUS, OTI and OTI-BV accounts.
- Prepares information as required for annual Workers Comp and 403b audits.
- Completes miscellaneous government reports and surveys
- Monitors activity in the stock account, documents gifts and sales. Records in GL
- Works closely with HR team in reviewing and processing timesheets and payroll
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Special projects and tasks, as assigned
- Automate processes where possible and write/update procedures
- Assist in implementation of all new accounting and payroll software module
ABOUT YOU - Experience with ADP payroll system and filing payroll taxes
- Associates degree in accounting
- Strong sense of initiative and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Safeguard confidential information
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Smart Sheets a plus
- Experience with Blackbaudon-profit software modules a plus
- Excellent analytical skills - attention to detail and quality of numbers
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
