Junior Accountant

The Jr. Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly activities of the general ledger team (60%-70%) with focus on month end close and accounts payable team (30%-40%) with focus on cross training with accounts payable specialist II.
Duties: Assist with preparation and review of preliminary and final financial statements for all companies each month; Assist with reviewing all general ledger accounts for accuracy.
Assist with reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as needed by the general ledger and accounts payable teams.
Assist with pre-audit preparations including auditor interaction; Assists with preparation of interim and year-end audit work papers
Assist with budget preparations
Provide general accounting support for general ledger and accounts payable teams
Assist retail and farm store operations with accounting matters as needed
Assist management with special projects
Completes all applicable surveys
Prepares and posts journal entries for month end close as determined by manager
Cross trains with AP Specialist II to provide customer service continuity
Prepares reports and analyses as requested by managers and executives
Executes other duties as required to provide AP and GL support
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
Communicate effectively.
Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.ERP systems knowledge is required; NAV experience is a plus.
Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: An Associate degree in Accounting or Business is preferred or equivalent work experience
Experience: 1-3 years general ledger, accounts payable or related work experience
Follows established procedures
Possesses a good understanding of general aspects of position
Entry level accounting skills
Fulltime position; wage is DOE with an excellent benefits package
