Based in Norwalk Connecticut and reporting to the Tax Manager, the role of the Senior Tax Accountant of the Priceline Group will focus primarily on U.S. taxes and encompasses the following:
Responsibilities - Coordination with Big 4 firm for preparation & review of U.S. tax returns, estimated taxes, and extensions. Returns include Income, franchise, capital, sales/use, property, information returns.
- Assist with managing the U.S. tax compliance process in an accurate and timely fashion, including compilation of supporting data and maintenance and monitoring of book/tax differences.
- Preparation and/or review of U.S. quarterly tax provision calculations and supporting schedules under ASC 740.
- Prepare and/or review forecasted tax expenses for FP&A.
- Review Form W-8 from external vendors.
- Research tax matters.
- Assist with tax planning implementation and strategy.
- Maintenance of an external/internal tax due date calendar.
- Research and respond to notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Assist with Federal, state, and local tax audits (income, sales/use)
- Preparation and/or review of tax account reconciliations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining SOX documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of country by country reports.
Experience and Qualifications - Minimum of 3-4 years of experience of professional tax experience or comparable industry experience
- Public accounting experience
- BS or BA in Accounting
- Licensed CPA or MST preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Broad technical background and experience.
- Good knowledge of Federal and State tax law.
- Understanding and knowledge of ASC 740.
- Understanding of Foreign Informational Forms (5471, 8858, 8865)
- Basic understanding of sales/use tax and property tax.
- Strong analytical ability to identify challenges, provide solutions, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines.
- Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail.
- Highly skilled in Excel. Proficient in the other Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and tax provision accounting software a plus
