ROLE SUMMARY The Test and Integration Engineer develops a thorough understanding of the functionality provided by the Trapeze products, the interaction of sub-components and aspects of deployment and integration with third party systems.
The Test and Integration Engineer will perform the testing activities associated with each phase of the development life cycle. The Test and Integration Engineer will participate in the integration and deployment effort of the Trapeze products and will help ensure a successful transition to use, in collaboration with on-site resources.

Skills KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Analyze and document product requirements.
- Develop and update test plans and test procedures.
- Prepare test environments.
- Execute test plans and prepare verification and validation reports.
- Analyze and qualify test failures.
- Work with management and the development team to improve testability and quality of the Trapeze products under test.
- Participate in supporting clients and regional support staff in the deployment and transition-to-use phase.
- Work with the development team to create official release notes for any new software before releasing to the customer care team.
- Provide 2nd level support to regional support staff.
- Evaluate and integrate test tools and advance the level of test automation.
- Perform configuration and release management tasks.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other Trapeze Group associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This role reports to the Professional Services Manager - Trapeze Group Middle East
No other roles report to this positon
The role will be required to work with the Project Managers of respective projects, as well as the Engineering and Development teams within TGAP.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Technical Skills - Minimum of 5 years software testing experience.
- Experience with Integration, Regression, Factory Acceptance testing and User Acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of defect tracking and configuration management techniques and tools.
- Experience with relational databases.
Desirable Skills and Experience - Understanding of communication architectures and complex data models.
- Experience with working on a Linux platform.
- Solid knowledge of shell and Perl scripting.
- Knowledge of XML, TCP/IP, UDP/IP.
- Knowledge of how to create/understand complex SQL queries.
- Experience in test automation - including automated GUI testing.
- Proactively assist with issue/bug identification
- Previous experience of Vehicle Tracking or other highly distributed systems.
- Previous experience in a client facing role.
- Experience with network infrastructure including firewalls, routers and communication gateways.
Personal Attributes - Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team work spirit (locally and internationally)
- Effective time management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS - Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification is highly desirable.
REMUNERATION - A competitive remuneration package is offered including base salary + allowances

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Occasional travel within the UAE, GCC and some overseas travel is expected.
- Out of hours work may be required from time to time.
