AIM Aerospace, Inc. is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant/Analyst to work out of our Renton, WA location. This position will report directly to the Operations Assistant Controller.
General Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant / Analyst is responsible for supporting the Operations Assistant Controller and Operations Controller in all accounting functions. The position will play a key role in assisting the accounting department in producing timely and accurate financial reports and developing financial reporting tools used throughout the organization. The role will require performance of complex accounting functions related to financial processes, reporting, analysis, and interpretation. The position will report to the Operations Assistant Controller.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Assist with the month end close processes, maintain the general ledger, generate monthly journal entries, and reconcile accounts in compliance with GAAP
- Assist with the preparation of the financial quarterly review package
- Maintain fixed asset processes and reporting, working directly with other department personnel to maintain complete and accurate records in compliance with GAAP, company policy, and established budget parameters
- Assist with the preparation of taxes and external reporting including but not limited to workers compensation, B&O taxes, property taxes, and census reports
- Provide audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules and documents
- Support the annual budgeting process
- Work cross functionally with IT to develop system driven business processes and reporting to improve data quality relating to gross margins, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, excess and obsolete reserves, etc.
- Assist with the development of tools and controls to support effective use or organizational resources
- Review and improve daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow
- Perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Create and maintain adequate and appropriate procedural documentation
- Provide special project assistance as required by the accounting department
- Provide coverage / back-up for key activities of the Operations Assistant Controller
Specific Job Skills:
Strong understanding of GAAP
IT or ERP administration knowledge with a strong understanding of ERP functionality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility
Experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Proficient with MS Suite, with advanced Excel skills
Ability to produce quality correspondence, spreadsheets, reports and presentations
Advanced research and analysis skills for financial and operating data, including planning and implementation of selected solutions
Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, MBA or Graduate Degree CPA preferred.
- 4 or more years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years of manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting.
