Standardizing the Bill of Quantities and costing procedures.
Providing sales/Production with accurate costing within the deadline.
Providing value engineered options with alternate materials and method of construction as an option to the organization.
Providing technical support to the projects team to ensure that details are properly conveyed to The Management and if required attend site/design meetings.
QS Should go for a Site visit before presenting costs to the management.
Maintaining the cost database to enable estimating to be more of a science than relying on a person’s experience.
Keep a record of standard pricing with regular updates based on the market rates.
Reviewing of invoice of Consultants, Contractors, Subcontractors and maintain the record/Log book before forwarding to accounts for payment.
Identify new subcontractors and suppliers to effect cost reductions without affecting the quality.
Ensure that existing contractors and suppliers comply with our quality standards.
Regular site visits once the job is confirmed to ensure recording of VO’s and to check quality of work of appointed Consultants and Contractors.
Inform the subcontractor allocation to the respective coordinator to monitor the work progress if required on minor projects.
Keeps records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
Prepare Payment Certificates and ensure that all documentation and substantiation has been presented.
Maintain a High Level of Integrity in all evaluations
Degree in Quantity Surveying from an internationally recognized institution.
Structural or Civil Engineer preferred.
Knowledge of FIDIC
