First Flight Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Cary, NC, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in maintaining reliable accounting information on income, expenses, assets, liabilities, capital and fulfilling regulatory and financial reporting requirements by performing the following duties personally or though subordinates.
- Manages the general ledger accounting, including reconciliations, research, and maintenance.
- Completes monthly and quarterly assignments related to board packets and NCUA calls.
- Purchases and sells investments as directed by management.
- Prepares monthly investment reconciliations and provides analysis to management.
- Processes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reports
- Maintains complex computer-based analyses and reports of financial institution accounting records.
- Maintains fixed asset ledger.
- Processes bi-weekly payrolls.
- Prepares property tax forms.
- Remits federal tax deposits (excluding employee payroll withholdings).
- Maintains the institution's insurance accounts to meet regulatory minimums.
- Provides general support to other areas of the institution as necessary.
- Creates ad-hoc reports based on manager's directive.
Qualified candidates should have the following:
- Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency with MS Excel
