Job Title: Staff Accountant

Overview Super Products is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Staff Accountant at its facility in New Berlin, WI.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, actively participates in the month end close process, pulls reports and schedules, reviews accounts payable documents and expense reports, prepares inventory and costing journal entries and reconciles accounts.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Participate in the month end close process, pulling reports and schedules, preparing selected inventory and costing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assists in the review of monthly manufacturing and parts department financial statement records to ensure accuracy of information.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to company personnel to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations in regard to accounting related matters.
- Works with the Assistant Controller -- Manufacturing in review of daily cost variance and transactional analysis.
- Assists with departmental questions regarding accounts and budgets.
- Assists with audit preparation, budget preparation, improvements to accounting system and questions from affiliates.
- Maintain and match files of accounts payable invoices received through email and mail, with packing lists.
- Review personal P.O. invoices -- code if possible, add vendor codes and forward to appropriate persons.
- Review expense reports and credit card receipts then code and forward for approval. Review utilities/phone bills then code and forward for approval.
- Review freight bills for proper carrier used, contact vendor if they are using the wrong carrier. Attach delivery receipts then code and forward for approval.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to company employees and management.
- Be a curious analytic. This means a person who, by nature, can pick up on things that look curious and naturally want to dig into things to see what they mean, find solutions, make suggestions, build ideas and solve potential problems.
- Establishes credibility and trust easily. Respects confidentiality and ethical standards of the position. Able to multi-task with the ability to take on additional project assignments without sacrificing accuracy and timeliness of foundation.
- Exceptional computer skills with a command knowledge of all software programs used by the organization (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and JD Edwards financial software).
- Must be a team player and proactively jump in and help the financial team on whatever it takes.
- Exceptional Excel, reporting abilities.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- Recent college graduate with internship is preferred.
