Job Description The Senio Financial Reporting Accountant will work within the Controller's group and report directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. This person will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and timely submission of regulatory filings (10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, etc.) with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") as well as other accounting/finance functions, including, but not limited to, consolidated financial statements preparation, analytics, accounting research, internal reporting, and general accounting close procedures.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (preparation of filing documents, completion of checklists, coordination of internal and external review)
- Liaise with external auditors, SOX and internal audit to assist in the investigation and clearance of review questions
- Preparation of the 401(k) Plan financial statements and coordination of the related audit
- Preparation of the Pension Plan financial statements and coordination of the related audit
- Perform technical accounting research and draft accounting policy memos
- Monthly and quarterly close procedures related to share-based compensation, deferred compensation, and other corporate charges (i.e. calculations, journal entries, reconciliations, and other necessary tasks)
- Consult across business functions on accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Address and resolve internal and external ad hoc requests from other departments and staff in a timely manner
- Observation of internal control requirements
Requirements - 3 to 5 years plus the education listed below.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Proven knowledge and understanding of financial accounting practices. Effective user of Oracle ERP, Discoverer, Hyperion, Excel.
Educational Background - Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
