Job Details The Company: With a portfolio of highly successful brands under management and with several hundred stores throughout the region this highly successful business is recognized within the region as being an employer of choice. Through an internal promotion a position of Visual Merchandise Manager for one of their key fashion brands is now available and the company is seeking a strong creative VM who can not only manage a team but set the creative standards and strategy for the brand.
The role: - Reporting to the General Manager you will be tasked with setting local Visual Merchandise standards & strategy
Managing a regional team of between 1-5 Visual Merchandisers and performance
- Directing a rapid store rollout within the region ensuring Visual / promotional material is in line with marketing & brand strategy
- Working with the internal Marketing / Buying & PR team to set a promotional calendar
- Ensure consistency across all stores including windows, signage, lighting, presentation & best sellers etc.
- Creating new promotional material that would be suitable for the Middle East market while maintaining international brand integrity
- Provision of training to Store Managers on Visual standards best practice
- Developing & updating the Visual Merchandise manual
Working with local shop fitting partners on store design, fit outs etc
Your background: - Minimum of 7 years senior Visual Merchandise experience with a minimum of 2 years VM Management in a large & structured retail company - You must have recent experience of working with fashion / department stores / beauty merchandise, preferably in an international volume fashion retailer
- Good experience of people management, motivation, managing staff performance and you will be tasked with recruiting, training etc.
- A strong creative and structured approach to visual concepts, window design & in store flow
- Any experience of working with an international brand is highly regarded as you will need to "interpret" global standards into local market conditions
- Strong commercial understanding of modern visual techniques and "return per square metre" is essential
- Ability to travel on a regular basis both regionally and internationally
- Although a tertiary qualification is not essential formal merchandising training or graphic design would be well regarded
Strong computer skills in particular InDesign, MS Office, Photoshop etc.
- An outgoing, positive & adaptable personality is critical for working in the Middle East along with an element of patience working in a multi-cultural team environment
- Excellent communication, computer skills and solid career history is essential for this position
