A.R Mazzotta has an excellent opportunity for a full time Junior Accountant in the Old Saybrook area. This positon is perfect for a college graduate that majored in Accounting and looking to begin or continue their career in a Finance Department. As a Junior Accountant, you will work under the direction of the Controller, responsible for various general accounting functions. This is a contract to hire opportunity; pay per hour is $14 to $17 DOE.
Accounting Responsibilities & General Duties Include but not limited to:
- Prepare monthly journal entries; perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Maintaining and reconciling accounts
- Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts; gathering and balancing information
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Prepare monthly status reports
Qualifications: - Bacheloregree in Business with a focus in Accounting or Bacheloregree in Accounting
- High proficiency in office procedures, filing and organizational skills
- Knowledge and experience with software programs; QuickBooks, MS Excel, and Word
- Proficient in letter composition, spelling, grammar, punctuation and proofreading
- Ability to follow directions and exercise good judgment
