We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join our Kindred at Home Division in Overland Park, KS.
Summary: Performs moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statement. Performs profit and loss research during monthly closings. Reconciles various GL accounts. Works under limited supervision.
Essential Functions: - Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare routine and non-routine entries to GL accounts
- Analyzes routine and non-routine accounts analysis detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
- Prepares and uploads journal entries to the Accounting Financial systems
- Reconciles and prepares accounting schedules on a monthly/quarter/annual basis.
- Performs P&L review and research
- Communicates with Executive Directors, Area Directors, and Area Vice Presidents
- Works with other departments (Billing, Collections, Public Relations, Accounts Payable, etc.)
- Adheres and monitors adherence to SOX requirements
- Adheres to and participates in Company's mandatory HIPAA privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices
- Participates in implementing/maintaining operational processes to ensure compliance to Company policies, legal requirements and regulatory mandates
- Reviews and adheres to all Company policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - This position must have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent analytical and computer abilities
- Approximate percent of time required to travel: 0-5%

Qualifications Education: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience: - Minimum of 4-5 years general accounting or audit experience required for a working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
