The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing the monthly results and first drafts of variance reporting to management. The Sr. Accountant will need to have a high level of understanding of the operation of the business unit to which he/she is assigned, through continual communication with superiors, business unit department heads, and business analysts. This role will be responsible for comprehensive and meaningful Budget and Forecast vs. Actual analysis, overall responsibility for maintenance and review of Balance Sheet account analysis and preparation and uploading monthly journal entries to the general ledger and review and approve vendor invoices. The Senior Accountant will work as part of a cohesive team that will be expected to successfully meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to changes in business environment to ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting in conformance with GAAP.
This role is located in Long Island City, Queens.
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, CPA/MBA a plus
- Minimum 4 years accounting experience
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Must have extensive experience working with desktop applications, specifically Excel
- Experience working with Oracle Applications
