The Position Staff Accountant
Job Summary IMERYS Metallurgy serves the metallurgy market along the whole metal production chain, from raw materials through to the casting of the final products. IMERYS products and solutions are used in the production of iron, steel and other metals. We mine and process bentonite, perlite, zeolite and produce continuous casting fluxes and a variety of specialty products for a wide range of applications and markets.
IMERYS is looking for a strong candidate with a great accounting background that will primarily be accountable for assisting the Deputy Controller with monitoring, recording and reporting on transactions pertaining to a division of Imerys. This is done through SAP, the bank, and various reports that are completed on a daily basis. The position requires the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of account balances. This position also requires a combination of routine daily tasks and complex monthly tasks and projects.
Location: Roswell, GA
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries for legal entity
- Assist with a divisional reporting (gross margin, sales, fixed cost and overheads.
- Prepare fixed asset reports and post depreciation monthly
- Posts customer payments by recording cash and checks. Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits. Prepare AR aging reports.
- Assist with inventory management
- Assistance in the audit process, primarily involving additional supporting documentation
- Complete the commission process for 2 legal entities
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Other applicable duties as assigned
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
- Technical ability and proficient with MS Office or equivalent (specifically Word and Excel).
- Data analysis, report generation, product proposals.
- SAP experience a plus.
- A proven record of adaptability to different cultures
- Ability to rigorously organize work in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
- Ability to work independently and in a group. Team player
- Creative thinker that can trouble shoot and solve problems
Education/Experience Requirements:
- BSBA with an emphasis in Accounting is required
- 2-4 years of Accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
